I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Hide and Seek, Iranian Style

December 4th 2007 12:51
Mahmoud Amadinejad has been trumpeting his hatred for Israel loud and clear. He has insisted that the nuclear technology he wants is only for "peaceful purposes" like energy. (After all, they don't have nearly enough oil!) He has been enriching uranium to bomb quality and building new "facilities" for the project.

Now, suddenly, we are told that he scrapped his nuclear bomb plans four years ago. Did he really? Have the last few years of threats been nothing more than rhetoric? Or is there something we don't know? Did Ahmadinejad take a page from Saddam Hussein's book and just pretend to have weapon technology to scare everyone? Could he possibly be that stupid? Saddam had WMD's and used them on his own people! Ahmadinejad has been supplying our enemies with weapons and other help in the killing of our troops and civilians as well. Can we really trust a dictator who has (or tries to get) deadly weapons and then says they don't exist? Would we not be idiots to believe him?

Try an experiment, folks... shoot out a couple of windows, then put your fist into your pocket and walk up to a cop. Tell him that you shot out the windows and are holding a hidden gun. What do you think he'll do? If you can keep him from shooting you for a few minutes, tell him that you threw the gun away after shooting out the windows and that your intentions are totally peaceful (but keep your fist in your pocket). I hope you aren't dumb enough to actually do such a thing! But that's what Saddam did and his own people hung him, remember? Now Ahmadinejad is trying basically the same tactics. What should we do? Talk to him like Harry Reid and a few other morons suggest? Surely he won't lie to us? right... I'm not necessarily advocating a pre-emptive strike at his nuclear plants... but I'm not big on believing that he has "peace" in mind, either. Unless it's the "peace" of Shariah Law, that is. As long as he keeps threatening our allies and assisting in the terrorist war (providing the means for killing) can we really trust any "evidence" that he has disarmed? Only if we are as stupid as the milk-toast liberals who see no evil, except in their own government... Think about it................

"Have the last few years of threats been nothing more than rhetoric? "

Yep.

"Did Ahmadinejad take a page from Saddam Hussein's book and just pretend to have weapon technology to scare everyone?"

No he never pretended, like Saddam he insisted he hadn't, and rightly so, he never did have any.

"Saddam had WMD's and used them on his own people!"

With the approval of the United States government no less.

So, Anonymous, wherer exactly have you been for the last several years? Off the planet? In an institution, perhaps? Or hiding under a rock so nobody would know your real name?

Apparently you didn't hear about the Kurd village that Saddam wiped out with a chemical WMD? Or the stashes that were found of bombs and missiles? Maybe you aren't familiar with the subterfuge he used to hide his weapons factories from the inspectors? He sure put on a good show of having weapons and hiding them! Perhaps he was trying to scare everyone with a lie, perhaps he had even more that remains hidden...

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on the other hand has made it clear that he has missiles aimed and will use them if anyone "invades" Iran. Maybe you think the missiles are filled with bubble gum? In a country that seems to be lingering in the 7th century (especially in their religion) and has vast oil reserves, what good would a nuclear reactor be? Seriously, Anon, think about it. He has made continual threats and bragged about his ability to make war while increasing his nuclear efforts for "peaceful" purposes. The nuclear program existed during the previous regime and could be restarted again with the "peaceful" technology he has now. This man is a very real danger, in case you hadn't heard. He is supplying weapons to our enemies and is threatening our allies.

Perhaps now that you're able to communicate and maybe learn something, you should try the learning part first. Right after you start using your own name!
