I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

UN (Useless Nutcases)

May 16th 2008 13:40
After Kofi Anan and his crooked policies departed, I was hoping that Ban Ki Moon might do a better job. Fat chance... The UN is still basically an ineffective debating society, capable of words without action, and little else. The following link concerns a new plea for UN intervention that will probably fall on deaf ears, much like Darfur and other crisis areas they have avoided. Somebody, please remind me why we contribute to the UN?

i actually totally agree with you on this, i wish the UN flexed a bit of muscle and had the power to circumvent any individual nations government in the case of delivering humanitarian aid in disasters

i dont think it should be up to individual nations like the USA or Australia to be forced to appear as "invading" another nation, that is the place of the UN, a body which is supposed to be a consensus of all the contributing nations of the world, an unbiased authority . . . all funds should be given to the UN and the UN should have complete access to any nation

Unfortunately, Morgan, greed pokes it's ugly snout into everything. The UN was designed to be both a peace keeping force and a diplomatic one. It has failed miserably on both counts. All sound and fury, signifying nothing... They have too much money and too much power for any rules to apply to them.

The free countries need to get together and create something to replace the UN. Can you imagine the UN putting the worst Human Rights abusers in charge of Human Rights? They did.

Hey S.L. My wish is the US. to get our of the UN, and the UN to get out of the US.

It has no real power to do anything, just words, that most of the time give aid and comfort to the corrupt.

It's a shame that the US. would host such a corrupt institute on its soil.

The UN might have been a noble idea, but it has been a colossal failure whos time has come and long since gone. It's time to turn out the lights the party is over.

I'll get the light switch, Lester! I've been fed up with them for years. They kept putting "sanctions" against Saddam and threatening with "or else" and then got all cranky when we acted. Their sanctions and resolutions are as useful as a set of toes on a kneecap! They cost us millions every month and repay it with inaction at every turn. What we need to replace them is an expanded Red Cross to handle emergencies and disasters and maybe NATO can help with the military actions. Real group effort instead of a bunch of greedy, lazy, useless criminals.
