I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Another Ugly Surprise

July 4th 2009 13:52
My friend Jerry, from whom I'm buying my house, came over today. Usually it's his wife, Twylah who comes to collect the payments. Jerry just had one of his legs amputated and is having trouble adjusting to the prosthesis. They're both in their eighties, by the way.

I handed Jerry the check, made out to Twylah, as I always do, and he said I needed to put it in his name instead, since Twylah died last Sunday. I almost keeled over with shock.

What is wrong with people? I lost two friends last Sunday and neither one would allow a funeral or memorial service. The first friend, Joan, at least allowed people to be notified that she had died. Twylah didn't even permit that. She wanted it kept a secret for some sadistic reason. If there is anyone that matters to you, please give them the opportunity to say good bye if you die. Or just take a baseball bat and smack them in the knees (that's a lot nicer than forcing people who care about you to swallow their grief and allow the open wound to last for the rest of their lives). I have nothing but contempt for that kind of cruelty.

Funerals are for the LIVING! How anyone can be that cold, cruel and selfish as their last act in this world just boggles me.

Good bye Twylah. In spite of your best efforts, you won't be forgotten. So there!

Maybe she was afraid Obama would try to buy her vote if he knew she was dead. Sorry about your friend.

That's a possibility, Randy. Wish I knew who she voted for... She was an otherwise nice lady, I hope the Lord chews her backside for the way she treated people when she left.

Sorry to hear about another lost friend S.L. she should allowed her friends to have closure, and to say good bye. Maybe they wanted to save some money to pay the death tax, it's about fifty percent isn't.

It wouldn't have cost anything to make a few phone calls and have a private gathering. They owned a business and I'm sure her husband will get plagued with taxes, no matter what. I haven't lived here long enough to know what the tax rates are. She was quite a character and I'll miss her.
