State of the Union

President Bush gave the State of the Union Address last night in front of an audience of Dems who intend to tear him down at every turn. Their idea of "bi-partisan" and his are two very different things. He spoke of the good things that are going on with the economy, stock market, and employment. He explained carefully why we must win in Iraq. He praised the troops (some individually) and recieved applause several times during the speech. Hannity and Colmes set up a cell phone rating system and their viewers thought the speech was excellent. 85% of them, at last count.
The Dem response was given by James Webb (D-Va) ( I mentioned him before the election. He's the guy who wrote books conatining graphic sexual abuse of children.) Needless to say I wasn't very impressed with the rebuttal.
The only unexpected thing about the speech was that they kept the cameras rolling when he left the podium and walked through the crowd on his way out. The same people who will try to bring down his administration today were standing in line for the photo-ops and to get the Presidents autograph. He was as courteuos and pleasant as always, calling people by their names and asking how they were. I don't know how he does it, folks. I'd have a hard time being nice to people who are such hypocritical. Guess that's why he's the Prez and I'm not!
