I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Ten Years and Counting

September 11th 2011 12:42
This is the tenth anniversary of the worst attack America has ever faced on it's mainland. Looking back, it seems like just yesterday, for the emotions are still there. Those who lost loved ones still feel the loss. America and all free people still feel the results via the many changes we have had to endure. The Muslims are still celebrating and planning...

Washington DC and New York City are on high alert today, due to a "credible" source who predicted that three Muslim men (two of whom were perhaps US citizens) were planning car bombs in honor of the anniversary. Of course, now the official word is that there is no "proof" that those three men arrived in the USA. Maybe the "screeners" didn't notice them? Maybe they arrived in full gear, carrying bombs, but the PC crowd didn't want to offend anyone by mentioning it. I'm pretty sure they'd have been nailed if they were carrying bottled water or nail clippers, though.

Makes you wonder how many like these three have come across the southern border, been arrested, released and continued on their way, doesn't it, folks? There could be half a million terrorists relaxing on welfare in "sanctuary cities", just waiting for their chance to strike.

Today, let's pause and reflect on the tragedy that was inflicted upon us by an evil group of people. Let us pray for those still grieving and for those who are in danger as we speak. Let us pray that God will continue to bless America, in spite of the PC insanity that tries to doom us.

Time will temper 9/11/2001, just as it has 12/7/1941. The new generations will not understand what happened before they were born or in their early youth as they make their own world and create their own 9/11's and 12/7's. Ask and 18 year old today what is missing from the New York skyline and I bet he does not know.

I will remember both because they happened in my time.

PC is a serious disease, Lester. It causes amnesia on important things and creates a memory of grievances where none should be. The only cure is a large dose of God's truth and grace.

Hearing B.O. (B.S.) try to read from Scripture this morning made me feel ill. It was clear the words were unfamiliar and uncomfortable for him.

Good point, Rick. We fail to teach accurate history and the memory of the actual events tends to fade with time. In my family, we have a tradition of remembering the important things as they happened and passing it down from generation to generation. Unfortunately, too many people count on the schools to teach history and what the kids learn is the latest PC version, not the truth.

I grew up outside NAS-Jacksonville. I remember my dad coming home from the South Pacific in early 1946. All of our neighbors were either active duty Navy or Marine personnel or had been active duty during the recent war. It really galls me when I see someone criticize Truman's use of nuclear weapons to end WWII. I can almost guarantee the critic has never had close family as active duty military in a war zone. I still remember the feeling in the pit of my stomach when I found out my oldest could be heading for Iraq. As it happened, he was in the group going in through Turkey and they put the quash on that. In the end, his unit was not needed and his reserve unit was sent home. Truman did the right thing and possibly saved 100,000 American lives. The Japanese reaped what they sowed.

I grew up in the shadow of World War Two, too, Rick. My mother was at Pearl Harbor, my Pappy had been sent to DC around Thanksgiving of '41. I heard all his war stories (he didn't often want to talk about it, but from time to time, he'd have plenty of tales to tell and pictures to show). Mama worked in a defense plant and Pappy was in the South Pacific for the duration of the war.

Of course Truman did the right thing! But the "blame America First" crowd refuses to see it. They prefer their rewritten variety of history.

My boss' (at the time) sister was on the plane that hit the Pentagon. She hated flying, but her company insisted she go out west on a business trip. She had no idea that her flight that day would end in tragedy. I still remember when my boss had to get a DNA test as they found some of the bodies so that they could make a match to her sister. It was awful.

My deepest sympathies to her family (and all the others as well). Never much of a jet fan, I haven't been on a plane for about 30-odd years. 9/11 convinced me never to do it again.

They'll probably come up with some new attack, though, PopCon. Now that we watch the planes and airports (especially those dangerous children and old folks).
