So Much to Do, So Little Sunday!
November 23rd 2008 13:23
This is going to be a really busy Sunday! Our pastor and his wife are out of town so we're having a group of teen aged evangelists to conduct the service. They travel with their ministry and are good from all acounts. It should be interesting! After church is our Thanksgiving Feast. We have some terrific cooks in our little congregation, too! Our contribution is a pumpkin pie (made from a pumpkin that my daughter grew!) and a green bean cassarole. Last year she provided the turkey. It should get everyone properly primed for this coming Thursday!
After church (and the feast) we're going shopping for the last of the Thanksgiving goodies. My father-in-law is especially anxious to check out a new discount grocery outlet. It won't seem like working on the Sabbath, because shopping trips like this are lots of fun (even for me, and I hate shopping!)
Dad and I will be having dinner out of the crock pot when we get home. I'll be too tired (and lazy) to spend much time in the kitchen and it's my nite to cook.
Next week will be busy and next weekend we start decorating for Christmas. I love this time of year, with or without as much money as usual. It's a time of sharing good times with loved ones, giving gifts (in remembrance of the Greatest Gift of All) and remembering those who are no longer with us.
Have a great Sunday, everyone!
