Squeaking Wheels and ACLU Grease

"Excuse me, but I'm a lesbian and I want to wear a tux and bring my girlfriend to the prom," said a high school student to the principal.
Seems like a simple question, huh? Hardly. The school canceled the prom rather than have lesbians "strutting their stuff" where all the other students had to watch. While I understand the school has standards to uphold and other students to consider, I'm sorry they had to cancel the prom. It's something the rest of the kids were looking forward to and have now lost because one squeaking wheel had to put on a show.
Personally, I don't give a rat's behind about what people do in private, but I refuse to have to watch or have it shoved in my face. The ACLU, of course, thinks everyone should have to deal with the sexual preferences of others, whether they like it or not. Lucky us...
I sincerely hope the students who have lost the right to enjoy their prom will fight back accordingly and have a prom (invitation only) of their own. Or are private parties no longer allowed? Will the ACLU demand the invitation only party be forced to include those that were not invited? Probably so.
Most people have enough class to keep their business private and not cheapen it by forcing it on everyone else. The most glaring exceptions to this are gays (lesbians, bi-sexuals, etc) and Muslims. Atheists run a close third. What ever happened to freedom of speech? Freedom of religion? And the old practice of minding one's own business?
Is this the result of the much-vaunted "diversity"? Or it is just the new definition of diversity? "Any minority group can, for any reason, make new rules that the majority is required to obey. The penalties for disobedience can range from threats, to intimidation, to lawsuits, to vilification, on both a personal or societal level." That sounds about right, doesn't it, folks? Downright progressive...

Round Politics
That's why our church does not take part in tax exempt status. We want to have control over our church not the government.
But what gets me is that a few years ago homosexuals were ashamed to come out in the open. I think they should have to go back into the closet.
