I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Let's All Walk on Eggshells

February 26th 2008 18:59
Boy, we really have to be carefull these days, don't we? Wouldn't want to "offend" anyone! The pictures of Barak Hussein Obama dressed in traditional Muslim garb has been considered wrong by the Clinton campaign, who put them out. All world leaders dress in traditional garb of the countries they visit, why should Obama be different? Unless, of course, his Muslim roots make it look like he enjoyed it. Then we have Sen John Sidney McCain, apologising to Barak Hussein Obama for daring to use his middle name. What's up with that? Unless, of course, the "Hussein" in Barak Hussein Obama means that he's a Muslim sympathizer...

What's in a name? Shakespeare asked many years ago... We apparently still haven't figured it out. Is all the eggshell walking because people are so terrified of "offending" Obama that they fear to use either photographs or his full name? Or could it be that his Muslim history is a possible "offense" to others? Others being those who remember 9/11 and don't want someone in the White House who saw nothing wrong with it? Or is the whole scenario an invention to make Obama look better than he is? Or perhaps a scam to convince us that it's perfectly acceptable to look the other way... so as not to offend a Muslim?

I don't give a tinkers damn what his middle name is or what costume he once wore. What matters to me is that he would be an atrocious president. Not one whit better than Hillary. And only slightly more repugnant than the eggshell walking, aisle crossing McCain.

I agree with you that it only matters how good (or bad) the person would be as president. There is plenty of ammunition to use when criticizing any of the three candidates who are still standing.

With that being said, I despise the use of Obama's middle name and the release of the picture. Those aren't substantive arguments and they only represent the petty tricks that make folks so cynical about politics and politicians.

Well said, PopCon. Mud slinging and sneaky remarks have become the order of the day in politics. Every one of them has done something they're not bragging about. Their poitics should be the important factor! Of course, the three leading candidates don't have all that many diffrences between them. Apparently someone thought they could "make hay" with extraneous crappola, and nobody would notice. Wrong...
