"Culture of Comfort"

Tom Tancredo (R-Co) has a great idea! He suggests that victims and their families should be able to sue "sanctuary cities" for crimes committed by illegal aliens under their protection. I think it's a brilliant idea! He cited statistics in Los Angeles that were alarming, to say the least. Their crime rate is due in large part to the illegal alien gangs, operating with impunity because of their "sanctuary" status. Sort of like harboring a pack of rabid dogs and wondering why people keep being bitten, isn't it? Could the "City of Angels" be trying a vain attempt to live up to it's name? Is it really a misguided effort to "be nice?" Or is it the very image of a liberal mecca like San Fransisco and other "sanctuary cities?" Shouldn't those who protect criminals be held accountable as accessories before and after the fact?
The "Culture of Comfort" being extended to illegals includes providing them with free education, (in their native language, so they don't have to bother learning English), free medical, food stamps, cheap housing, benefits that most natural citizens aren't "entitled" to recieve. Not to mention their ability to commit crimes and face no real penalties. The killer in Newark, NJ, for example had been arrested repeatedly and released in time to indulge in 3 murders and one attempted murder. The "sanctuary city" of Newark, the judge who released him, and the D.A. who apparently wasn't interested enough in a child rapist to demand confinement should all be held accountable for allowing him the freedom to kill. I hope the victims' families fight back and sue the hell out of everyone who was responsible. Maybe if the "powers that be" who want to have "sanctuary cities" had to pay for their foolishness, they'd start acting with a little integrity, and stop supporting criminals.
