Ann's Interesting Correlation

Let me start off with the fact that I know several single mothers, and even more smokers. In fact, I have been both. (My kids are grown, but I still smoke.) When you read the new Ann Coulter column, bear in mind she isn't talking about widowed or divorced single mothers. She only means those who decided to have children without bothering to get married so they could raise the children alone. (The brand new mother of eight leaps to mind here, folks.)
I know a young couple who have two adorable little boys. The parents are just "shacking up" and have no intentions of getting married. So far they seem to be doing all right, but if they ever split up, it'll be rough for the kids. "Mom" works and "Dad" is mostly unemployed so he stays home and raises his sons. On the good side, they didn't kill the children for convenience. On the bad side they are not teaching their boys much in the way of responsibility.
