Prelutsky on Liberalism
September 8th 2008 13:45
If you've ever wondered about liberals and why they do the silly things they do, Burt Prelutsky has some answers that make sense. His ideas of why blacks and Jews continue to vote Democrat are right on the money! Really Long Link
In my own family, I have seen another reason why people continue to vote Democrat. It's as much a tradition in the older generations of my family to vote Democrat as it is to have Sunday dinners. Most of my own generation and the one after are Democrats. But if you pin any of my relatives down and ask them specific questions about what they believe in, most of them can't stomach anything the Democrats stand for. So why don't they just switch parties and stand up for what they believe in? Shame. They think that if they change parties and start voting for what they know is right, it will be an admission that they have been wrong all these years. They would rather continue to support things they hate than admit that they have been made fools of for their entire voting lives. So they keep gulping the liberal Kool Aid in an effort to drown their sorrows.
The liberal philosophy is based on emotion and usually followed by people who "feel" good for the positions they take, often without understanding anything further about their "positions." I guess it's easier for them to blindly follow than to make an effort to learn the realities of their "beliefs."
