Talk About Baffling...

I heard a news story this morning that left me scratching my head in complete amazement. It seems that we don't have a "head" of the TSA yet. There's a guy who was nominated for the job, but the Republicans are dragging their feet when it comes to approving him. Apparently he used his law enforcement position to check up on the record of his ex-wife's boyfriend (20 years ago). What?
Look, they OK'd a tax cheat (Geithner), a total incompetent (Napolitano), a man with terminal "foot in mouth" disease (Biden), a NAMBLA supporter for the Education Department, a proud racist for the Supreme Court (Sotomayor), a big fan of partial birth abortion for Health and Human Services (Sibelius), and too many more to list. Now, they're pretending to oppose a guy who "abused his power" by getting information that could effect the safety of his kids? I guess he didn't qualify as bad enough for the B.O. (B.S.) regime, maybe? The Republicans are suddenly making a show of caring what kind of criminals are running the country. I expect the Democrats to whole-heartedly support any low-life scum their hero comes up with. But when the Republicans pull a stunt like this, it boggles the mind, folks. Who's side are they on, anyway?
Sort of like other events of very recent days. Apparently everyone and their dog knew about the Ft. Hood killer, well in advance, but they didn't dare profile him because he was a Muslim. Hey, what are 13 dead and a couple of dozen wounded, when compared to "profiling"? Then the Christmas bomber... his own father turned him in, hoping to stop him from killing. Instead, he was given every courtesy and allowed to board the plane that he planned to blow up. Hey, it's so much easier to detain a small child who shares the name of a no-fly person, but we can't go after a man simply because he trained in Yemen, isn't allowed in the UK, and was reported to be a terrorist by his father! Being a Muslim really has some interesting perks, huh?
If I were insane enough to consider getting on board a plane, maybe I'd dress like a Muslim, carry a Koran, mumble constantly about allah, demand a seat that was directly over the fuel tank, and threaten anyone who didn't like it with a lawsuit for "profiling". Yep, they'd hustle me right through and escort me to my seat! Of course, being an American grandmother, I'd be subjected to a series of checks (no shoes, no coat, no carry-on luggage going unsearched, no hand lotion or mineral water, not even hidden in my underwear!) And a careful strip search if I dared to carry a Bible... can't forget that part...
What is wrong with us? How have we allowed this insanity to go so far? Are we brain-dead or just incredibly stupid?
Just think, folks, we can look forward to more of the same until we get to remove these maniacs from office (and to a cozy spot behind bars where they belong). I have a feeling that 2010 won't be a very happy new year until the Nov. elections.

Round Politics
I just wish we could wipe them all out in Nov. and start fresh with people who actually care about this country instead of only their own personal gain.
I will never understand why people spend a hundred times more money than they could ever earn in public office. I am learning why now as I see the dems selling this country out.

The Political Brief
That's where we are politically, I think. Electing criminals and lunatics hurts like crazy, but it'll sure feel good when we stop!

So basically what you're complaining about is that security isn't quite as tight in Africa and Europe as it is in the US?

Instead, they're going to forbid people the use of restrooms for the last hour of a flight. Boy, that should help. Might make them blow the plane up and hour sooner than planned. Better scanners aren't a bad idea, but there will be people whining about "privacy". Air marshals would help. But some countries frown on armed passengers. I mean, we can't have Chuck Norris on every flight, can we?
