Who Is Paul Jacob?

Anyone who has been reading thepoliticalbrief for any length of time knows how I feel about term limits. I firmly believe that Governors, Senators and Congressmen should be kept to two terms. Period. Politics can be a lifetime hobby, a lifetime interest, but should never be allowed to become a lifetime career. I'm quite sure that if the Founding Fathers had seen what Senators and Congressmen can do in thirty or forty or fifty years on the job, they would have been very specific and clear about forbidding it. Allowing a politician to become too entrenched is dangerous for everyone. They forget about the Constitution and start trying to create new rules to cover their own backsides. They spend taxpayer money as though it was nothing, all to curry favor with their constituants (and usually at the expense of any real accomplishments). Robert Byrd, for example has dumped billions of dollars into pet projects that bear his name. Ted Kennedy has co-authored bills that serve no one but himself (in the longrun) while pretending to "understand and care" about "the poor."
This country was founded on principles of equality and freedom, not political dynasties and virtual monarchies that drain the life out of us. The longer a politician stays in office, the more brazen he or she becomes and the less they care about the electorate. Their campaigns for their tenth re-election are filled with the same promises they made nine times before (and failed to keep). If we had term limits, these turkeys would know they had to do a good job and be honest because they wouldn't have the opportunity to continue to lie beyond the second term. Senators, for example, would be less likely to run for President before their two terms were finished, because losing the presidential election would put them out of work.
So, who is Paul Jacob? He's a guy in hot water because he believes in term limits and obeyed the Constitution to try to get results.

Round Politics
I fear a civil war starting not to far down the road, a republic divided can not stand, and this country is split down the middle and ready to fly apart anytime now.
If term limits are not imposed the band of thieves will continue to tear our country apart at the seams.
