I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Visiting Some Friends

April 19th 2009 21:46
I went to see some friends of mine yesterday. Haven't known them long and knew nothing of their politics. The couple are in their eighties and the husband just had his right leg amputated. I spoke with them for a few minutes and was asked how things were going with me. I told them about the TEA party and how I had managed to get on the wrong side of the local civic "leader".

The husband tried to keep a straight face as his wife asked me how I could have had a TEA party. I explained to her that it wasn't just about taxes, but about the insane way the tax money was being wasted. I told her about the 9000 pork projects that made no sense. The husband chuckled, in spite of himself.

I commented that we need to stop supporting illegal aliens and the wife went ballistic! She said that everyone came here illegally and we should welcome them. The husband couldn't contain himself and was laughing aloud. "How did you get here?" She demanded, getting angry with me. "Well, some of my ancestors met the Pilgrim's boat. Some of my ancestors came over on slave ships. The rest of them got here legally!" I replied. She sputtered to a stop and her husband cleared his throat several times before saying, "Same thing I've been telling you, honey. See, I'm not crazy!" Then he laughed again.

It seems that all those opposed to free speech have their own agendas, combined with the Democrat agenda of higher taxes and stupid spending. Nasty Pelosi thinks it's all a Republican plot to spare the ultra rich (of whom she is one) from paying their "fair share". It's a whole lot easier to demonize those who don't like being used than to admit that the use is going on.

S.L. dealing with dumbocrats are like fighting with rattlesnakes, some don't sing before they bite. Did you get an invite back to their house?

They didn't say, Lester. But I bought my farm from them, so they can't be too grouchy with me. LOL
