I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

"... To The Shores of Tripoli..."

April 21st 2009 09:44
The title of this post comes from the Marine Corps Hymn. Isn't it interesting that, after more than 200 years, we're having to re-fight a battle that should have been done with long ago? Isn't it also interesting (and more than a little disturbing) that the pirates who are attacking us now are Muslims? Other societies have advanced through the years and progressed to become leaders in economics, science, and other pursuits, while Muslims have remained centuries behind the times. Brutality seems to be their only constant trait, whether the targets (victims) are "infidels" or women.

Piracy has a certain romantic connotation, thanks to Disney and Johnny Depp. But the real pirates are a threat to the stability of civilization all over the world. They have no concern for anyone. Has anybody noticed that they attack ships that are taking relief supplies to other Muslims? These are nasty, rotten, wicked people, folks. Like terrorists all over the world, they use their "religion" as their excuse and most governments are afraid to retaliate for fear of being called "Islamophobic." We need to get over the fear of being labeled, folks. We need to stand up against these pirates and fight back.

Personally, I think we should pull all our ships from the area and refuse to deliver supplies to the starving people along the African coast. Somalia and the other countries who desperately need the food and medical aid are also basically Muslim countries. Let the slimy Muslim pirates take care of them. No this isn't a lack of compassion on my part. It's common sense. If we stop providing aid and assistance to the needy, because of the Muslim pirates, maybe the governments of those needy countries will stand up and start taking care of their own people. Maybe they'll be able to bring the piracy to a screeching halt. Putting our own vessels and citizens in harms way hasn't worked so far, has it?

S.L. that is a common sense approach, I believe in helping others, but sometime you must put your own household above others. Why risk innocent lives, to save others that make no effort to help themselves?

And why not put armed security on the ships to stop these little speed boats, that's a shame in it's self to let a tiny boat, take over a huge vessel, just blow them up on sight.

Unlike the phony financial "crisis" or the "environmental crisis", Lester, this one is real and there is something we can do about it! I'll bet President Bush (and even more so, President Reagan!) wouldn't have weaseled around it. We had real men in the White House then, not stuffed suits who are only interested in political correctness.
