I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Mother's Day Morning

May 10th 2009 14:09
This is Sunday, May 10, 2009. Mother's Day. It's raining and a little chilly here, but the lilacs make beautiful bouquets in my yard.

This holiday was begun in 1914, the same year my mother was born. Woodrow Wilson made it official.

The florist industry has it's biggest day today, jewelry stores and restaurants do well today, too. (Not all the purchases are made today, of course, but during the previous week). You'd think it would be a little boost for the economy, wouldn't you? I mean, everybody either has a mother or knows one... Grandmothers, aunts, sisters, in-laws, nieces, daughters, friends and neighbors, there are mothers everywhere. It's a good time to take note of them and thank them for all they do. Lots of churches give out flowers to the mothers in the congregation.

Mother's Day isn't a religious holiday, so even Democrats and atheists can celebrate it without stressing over the church and state issues.

So to all the mothers, everywhere, Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's day to all the mothers, they work so tirelessly to make it easier for us all. I lost my mother when I was only 12 years old, I still miss her thirty five years later. What I would give for just one more day with her there is so many things I would love to say, and many question to ask.

I hope you had a wonderful day S.L. my family and I went back on the back forty as they say had a picnic and rode horse, well my wife, daughter, and sister rode 4 wheelers my son's and I rode horses. We finally got a dry day, seems like it has rained for weeks, but I am not complaining last year we had a drought.

I'm glad you had such a great day, Lester! My grandson made a really good dinner and it rained off and on all day. My husband called three times and I talked to my niece several times. My day went pretty well! I even managed to work on the new novel for a few hours. This'll be a pretty good one (if I do say so myself... and I do!) LOL
