The Show Must Go On...and On...
September 15th 2007 13:29
The hippies of 1960's fame are alive and well... unfortunately. The same group who held protest marches against Viet Nam are still getting their 15 minutes of fame as often as they can. Of course, they have new recruits, following in their "hallowed" footsteps. A few years ago it was AIDS that inspired the marches and "die-ins", one of which made a mess all over the capitol steps... remember that? Then it was to protest nuclear weapons. Their pretty little notion that if we disarm, everyone else will too, was particularly stunning. I wonder why they don't go to the rogue nations that now have nuclear capabilities and put on their performance for them... Oh, that's right, they only want us disarmed and the "other guys" would kill them for objecting to their policies. It's much safer to stage an "event" against freedom when you have it...
The newest "cause celebre" is, of course the War on Terror. The protestors will carry signs with the names of some of the dead heroes in their show. Somehow I don't think the families of most of those fallen warriors will appreciate the notoriety and offense against their loved ones. Naturally, Silly Sheehan will be there, bravely jumping in front of every camera she sees. After all, she really needs the "face time" to run against Nasty Pelosi in '08 and impeach Pres. Bush.
