I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

John Edwards to Announce

December 21st 2006 17:18
Oh great, another super liberal Democrat hack throwing his hat into the proverbial ring. Just what we need. A failed vice presidential candidate hoping people will like him better this time around. Lucky us...
I hear he's planning to go to New Orleans to make the announcement. Rumor has it that he's considered the only one who can beat Hillary and Obama. Sterling company, huh? He probably is representing some of the hurricane victims and wants to find new and exciting ways to blame Bush for the disaster. Yawn... I'll bet he doesn't mention all the forty-odd years that the federal government granted the money to repair and update the levy system for the protection of the city. He won't spill the beans about the Democrats who ran Louisiana all those years spending the money on everything else instead. He'll be surveying the destruction that hasn't been elimated yet and talk about how much he'll do for the city and the state. Right... another Dem with big promises and no action. Just what we need...

Obama sounds a lot like Osama and Hillary looks hot in a bikini. Why not throw John into the mess? My wife and I were talking the other day and I can't think of a Dem prez that did anything. It seems to me the great strides that the USA has made thusfar have all come under the watch of Rep presidents.

You're right, Youranter. The only thing I can think of that a Dem did well (and he just started the ball rolling) was JFK wanting us to go to the moon, which we finally did. The bad things always seems to come from the left side of the aisle. Like the escalation of the Viet Nam War, like War on Poverty, like one scandal after another. Or terrorist attacks that went unanswered. The Dems have been in charge of education for almost 50 years and it's a mess. But they use it for every election. Welfare was a Dem idea, too. And Social Security (which is a modern day disaster because they stayed in charge of it and turned it into an entitlement instead of a little extra which it was intended to be). Their good "intentions" have been bad news!

Heh. At least Edwards will be a balance to the super conservative Republican hacks pitching their headgear into the sawdust.

As far as New Orleans, both parties would rather play the hero than to accept any of the blame. One of the criteria I used for living where I do is that the elevation is relatively high for the area (Florida). When the water is up to the second story is not the time to start planning how to get the hell out of there.

LOL Francis! I'd be more inclined to evacuate before the water got to my porch. Ray Nagin had "plans" for evacuation that were never implemented. The school busses for example. Louisiana's governor failed miserably by keeping the Red Cross at bay when they were ready to help.
Concerning John Edwards, he may get some votes for having nice hair, but having run as VP candidate with John Kerry tells me he isn't very politically smart. Kerry has been a huge embarassment to himself and the whole country for a long time and Edwards tied himself to him. Besides that, Edwards, a lawyer who made his money with lawsuits (some frivolous) is part of why our medical expenses have risen so high. He has his money, but he (like all good liberals) wants to use national health care as part of his platform on the backs of those who can least afford it. Another thing to consider is that Hillary will most likely run and she won't tolerate Edwards or anyone else having a chance against her. She'll swat him like a fly.

Hillary's not tolerant? Better noy tell Bill that, lol. I'm not sure who John Edwards is, but you're right about Kerry. Are you sure you don't have a bunch of Canucks running down there? It sounds like something only we could dream up.

LOL Our politics may sound dreamed up, but if so, it was a nightmare! Maybe we should import some of your politicians and send you some of ours... on second thought, maybe we shouldn't. It would be terrible to have a war with Canada!

LOL wouldn't be much of a war, SL. They took away our rifles and insisted on making us peacekeepers. The people who now find us in the role of peacemakers have their knickers in a twist because we send troops to Afghanistan with green, rather than desert, camoflauge. The fact that we have to hitch rides with you guys to get there also speaks very highly of our readiness to fight. We are trying to get up to date, thanks to our Con gov't. Bear with us. In the meantime, I'm glad we have the USA next door to protect us.

Speaking for everyone I know, we're glad to be there. The USA couldn't ask for a better neighbor and friend.
