John Edwards to the Rescue?
March 24th 2008 15:05
The very important factor of one former candidate endorsing another (who is still in the race) has popped up again. John Edwards (D- SC) is playing with his options of whether to hand his endorsement to Barak Obama or Hillary Clinton. It could be a momentous event, folks!
Consider that John Edwards was a one-term senator from his home state. He lost the attempt at a second election. Remember when he ran for Vice-President under John Kerry (who went to Viet Nam, you know). Their ticket didn't even carry Edwards' home state. Then he decided to run for President on his own, parading his dying wife for the media and having her leave her sick-bed to defend him, repeatedly. He was out of the race rather quickly.
Now he is contemplating which of the two remaining candidates to support. It could be a major victory for one of them. Don't laugh! I'm serious! If he endorses Clinton, then Obama should win by a landslide! The reverse is also true. Whichever candidate he selects could wind up losing in a big, big way! Too bad he can't split his endorsement to include them both! That would be a victory for McCain, wouldn't it?

Better than GWB who stayed home and sucked his thumb.

President Bush was in the service. He was a pilot in the National Guard and would have gone to Viet Nam if his unit had been deployed there. Lots of people enlisted and didn't go to war. His father (Pres. Bush 41) was a hero during World War Two, in case you didn't know.
There were also those who were known as "draft-dodgers" like Bill (the Zipper) Clinton. He led protest marches against his own country (in foreign lands) in time of war. That's called treason.
This particular post, however, was concerning John Edwards. Odd that you made no referrence to him...
