Israel Under the Bus

May 21st 2011 00:39
I suppose B.O. (B.S.) didn't want to offend the easily offended Muslims (big shocker, there) by keeping his word from 2008 and supporting Israel. Such a spineless move doesn't surprise or even disappoint me anymore. It's pretty much expected from the wet noodle in the White House.

Of course, the "big announcement" came right before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyahu arrived to address Congress. I wonder if he had to enter the White House through a back door like the Dali Lama? Or if his "most gracious" host abandoned his guest for a luncheon engagement again? Or maybe it was enough of an insult to just make a public point of turning is back on Israel in front of the cameras...

Imagine for a moment that you're an Israeli. One tiny country, surrounded by other countries that hate you. People than loudly scream their desire to murder you, your family and all the Jews. You live in the only democracy in the Middle East. Your people are free, no matter their heritage or nationality and all citizens have equal rights. Now those who want to kill you and remove all of your rights are being supported by the one country that swore to support you.

That discomfort you feel is the "shiv" that's been jammed into your back by a two bit Chicago street thug. In September, there will be a UN vote, and you'll probably be forced to give up much of your land, all the holy places (and just ask the Buddhists in Afghanistan how nice Muslims are to other people's heritage), and your sworn enemies will have the Golan Heights from which they will be able to conveniently wipe out your cities.

Anyone naive enough to believe that giving up pieces of Israel to Palestinians will bring peace is fooling himself. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Israel is the only free country in the area and that when it falls (as B.O. (B.S.) and other lunatics intend), the Muslims will have both their feet in the door and free rein to get their Caliphate going. If you think they'll stop there and start being peaceful, then you know nothing of history or their Koran.

The geo-political scene aside, for those who believe in God (not Allah, the real God) genocide is wrong and enabling it is equally wrong. For those who have read the Bible, remember where it clearly states that unless we stand with Israel, God will strike us down. You might also recall that history is filled with examples of evil people trying to destroy the Jews (and where it ultimately got them), just in case you don't believe what the Bible says.

That spineless Muslim in the White House has finally stepped in it, BIG TIME, and God won't forget his duplicity. Unless we stand with Israel, we won't be standing very long.

You would think that this would drive all Jewish-Americans from the Democrats, but they'll probably still vote Democrat. It could hurt his fundraising, though.

S.L. I agree with you wholeheartedly, I also think he will see a back lash because of this. He is showing his true colors.

Hi guys and gals!

I really think Obama demonsrtated just how unqualified he is to occupy the Office of the President. If the Republicans can come up with a half way decent ticket they will take 2012 and maybe even regain control of the Senate. Let's just hope Obama continues to stumble over his ego.

I am hearing a lot of rumblings about a Daniels/West ticket and Cain/West or West/Cain has been is getting a lot of play in this part of the world as well.

Still waiting on a Democratic version of a budget. They passed on their obligation last year and they definitely seem to lack the courage of their convictions again this year.

Obama didn't say anything about giving parts of Israel away. The 1967 borders are Israel proper. The rest is Palestinian territory that Israel occupies. The only thing Israel will be giving away is land that DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. Come September the UN will recognise Palestine and then Israel will have to withdraw or suffer the consequences of invading and illegally occupying the land of a sovereign UN member.

Hi PopCon, Lester and Rick! I keep hoping there will be a backlash coming from one of the many groups (pick one!) that he has used and tossed away, but none of them seem bright enough to understand what happened. Blacks remain a Democrat group who will vote for him because of his party and skin color and in spite of the many damaging things liberalism has done to them. Hispanics seem to like him in spite of the damage he, and liberalism, does to them. And the media ignores all this (or lies for him). Too many Jews vote Democrat as a knee jerk reaction instead of using common sense. It's tragic.

As for you, Anonymous (ashamed to use your name?), the 1967 war was 44 years ago and Israel WON! It is THEIR land now and nobody has the right to demand they return it. The reason the Palestinians want it is to use it against Israel, not to have a "homeland". Do you ever pay attention to the news?

And did you read it? There is a common consensus in the international community that Israel should leave the occupied territories. There are Israelis, politicians and citizens alike, who want Israel to withdraw. It's not the land SL. It never was and it never will be. Until Palestine is free, there will never be peace in the Middle East.

And when the Palestinians are "free" and have wiped Israel off the map, do you honestly think we can call it "peace"? If you do, then you might want to wake up from this silly dream.

Israel is the most powerful country in the Middle East and the only one in the region with nuclear weapons. It has the fourth strongest army in the world. America is its top ally and it receives four billion dollars in military aid every year.

Exactly how are Palestinians going to "wipe Israel from the map"?

Israel is not David. Israel is Goliath.

Israel, land-wise, isn't very big as it sits today, Anonymous. Cut it down or cut it in pieces and it's defensibility shrinks. The land the Palestinians want, that B.O. (B.S.) wants to give away (from a country that he doesn't own, I might add) would put the Golan Heights into the hands of Palestinians who have sworn to kill the Jews. They can shoot or send missiles down into cities and airports while the Israeli's are firing up at them. Guess who wins a fight like that?

And while we're on the subject of David and Goliath, you clearly haven't read that story from the Bible. It had much less to do with the size of Goliath or David than it had to do with David being a Jew and under the protection of Almighty God. Right now, Israel is indeed David again with Goliath being the Arabs who surround her and pledge her destruction.

If the other Muslims were so interested in helping their Palestinian brothers, any one of their countries could have offered them a patch of desert to call home. But they don't want a home and they don't want peace. They want to destroy the Jews and freedom and have their caliphate. Or have you missed the interviews with Arabs (Muslims) of every kind, voicing their blind hatred for Israel? How about the riots in London, with Muslims carrying signs that read, "Down With Freedom"?

Senator Lindsey Graham touched on this subject yesterday and I think with more than one interview. I found this link a few moments ago, Really Long Link . I think he lays it out pretty clearly and the starting point is definitely a declaration from the Muslim world acknowledging Israel’s right to exist without constant threat to their sovereignty. I remember from the six day war, Syria was raining artillery shells down on Israel from the Golan Heights. With that history, I could not blame Israel for never giving up the high ground to Syria, especially with Syria's support of Hamas. Russian backed Arab forces were ready to do away with Israel in 1967 but Israel kicked their butts. To the victor belong the spoils and Israel later gave the Sinai back to Egypt as a peace offering and guarantee of no further threats of aggression from Egypt. Why should someone be asked to give up their home after 4 plus decades to placate a group of folks that wish you nothing but ill will?

I agree with Senator Graham; the starting point is a commitment from the Muslim world assuring Israel of its right to sovereignty and a peaceful existence. Then the boundaries can be discussed. The Arabs have hated the Jews since the beginning of time and the Jews have definitely learned to never trust an Arab. I know Obama thinks well of himself but I do not think he is going to change thousands of years of cultural animosity with a stroke of his ego, no more than we can force democracy on folks who are happy to be ruled by religious fanatics. When they are ready to be free, they will free themselves and until then outside interference will only cause the deaths of innocent thousands, as it has already.

We need to come home and let the Middle East muddle until they can straighten out their own problems. Personally I do not think the mass of the Islamic world want things to be any different than they have been for the past four thousand years. Obama continues to step in poo poo because of his inexperience and lack of leadership ability.

Re the UN … Screw ‘em.

I wholly agree that the way the White House has been treating Israel is altogether wrong. Although, it has been doing this for some time now. The Oslo Accords and Road Map to Peace were also just as perdictive! Be blessed.

The reason all Middle East peace plans fail is that the Palestinians don't really want a homeland or peace, Anonymous.

B.O. (B.S.) is is a pathetic excuse for a president, a diplomat and a human being.

Very good points, Rick. Israel cannot continue to bend over backwards! And the Arabs will never formally accept Israel's right to exist.

As for the UN... I wouldn't... LOL But they have already proven to have no spines, common sense or teeth with their piddling resolutions.

"You better do what I say, or else!" UN

"Or else what?" Pick a bad guy.

"Or else we'll keep repeating ourselves!" UN

We need to get out of the UN and let them pay their own bills for a change.

For me it is not so much a love of Israel which affects my feelings in the matter, but rather a sense af equal protection under the law. Palestine wants recognition and its own country and is going to expect that Israel will not permit extremist to sit on the border and hurl rockets and mortar rounds on to their citizens. Why should Israel not be granted the same assurance by Palestine, Syria and whoever controls the Gaza Strip? Iranian backed Hamas has openly continued to threaten Israel's existence as has Iran itself. I just feel that the first step in any process needs to be all round recognition of the right to peaceful coexistence and some guarantees that it will be carried out.

Does anyone think the Arabs would want to return to 1967 borders had they won the war? I doubt it ... but then, had that been the case we would not be having this conversation today.

First Anonymous, it's called a TEA Party.

Second Anonymous, Mike, it works better if you don't have your picture and blog names with the Anonymous. Looks kind of silly...

Lester, it makes me sick to see people defend the indefensible, too. It's amazing how many people downplay the dangers of something that is so deadly.

Rick, no matter how you slice it, a rational mind will side with Israel. To do otherwise is to approve of evil in the face of good and insanity over common sense.

As odd as it may sound, Obama is trying to get money from liberal American Jews who think that Israeli PM is too right-wing. Any "throwing Israel under the bus" is largely self-inflicted by the current Israeli government.

B.O. (B.S.) is trying to get money from everyone, Howard. He wants to be re-elected, and unfortunately he had a lot of the Jewish vote in '08. That doesn't make him pro-Israel, just pro votes. He clearly doesn't understand the history of Israel or give a rats behind about it.

Netanyahu is absolutely right to defend his country! You can't really believe that the Israeli's don't have a right to exist, can you? Cutting them down in size and forcing them to kiss up to Muslim countries that have vowed to destroy them is nothing short of insanity.
