I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. Identification

August 31st 2007 17:35
I misplaced my drivers license recently and went to the local DMV to get a replacement. Silly me, I thought it wouldn't be a big deal. After all, I am a licensed driver (in very good standing). But they insisted on 3 more forms of identification plus my Social Security card. Well, I don't have the card. It was stolen years ago and I never thought about replacing it, because I don't really need it... so I thought. They can't just pull up my license on the computer and verify that I am me. Oh hell no, that would be easy and reasonable. Now, maybe I'm missing something, folks, but illegals seem quite able to obtain all the identification they want without much effort. Why couldn't I? At any rate, it was annoying, but I managed to solve the problem.

Yesterday I heard about an identity theft ring being broken. Apparently illegals had gotten hold of Social Security cards and were using them. The situation was discovered when a woman was contacted about her son earning $60,000. from a construction company. She contacted the IRS and informed them that her son was two years old! It's not the first case, either. Am I missing something else here? We keep hearing about the poor illegals coming here to do jobs that American citizens are unwilling to do. Unwilling? Really? Working in construction for sixty grand a year? Ha Ha... I know plenty of people who have a right to be here that would love to have some of those jobs! If an illegal alien can get the right stolen id and make really good money for it, why wouldn't they? After all, our laws mean nothing to them.

So, folks, the next time some liberal dufus tells you that illegals are O.K. beacuse they only take jobs that none of us legals want, you can laugh at their ignorance. I sure will!

I went to have my health card renewed a couple of months ago, SL. The woman asked for three pieces of ID. I gave her my driver's licence and my social insurance number. She still needed one more piece with my signature. I took a piece of paper and signed it in front of her. It wasn't good enough. It had to be 'official'. I told her to f--k off and stormed out. TBH and I returned when I had calmed down and I sent TBH to ask waht ID she woud need, seeing as how she doesn't drive. Same woman tells her a library card would suffice. No photo ID, no signature, no nothing. A flippin' library card. I stormed out again. Gov't just has no clue.

So true. I had a conversation the other day with someone who lamented how "oppressed" illegals were. Is that why we have a million people streaming across the border each year? So that they can get here and be "oppressed"? Please.

Every time I hear someone whining about our treatment of illegals, or how much better things are in Cuba, I want to hear them explain why so many people from all over the world are trying to get here. I wonder what would happen if a legal citizen pretended to be illegal? Would the usual laws not apply? Might be interesting to find out...
