Robert Wexler is "Homeless" No More
July 31st 2008 02:00
Poor Robert Wexler (D-FL). Apparently he has been virtually homeless for some years now. How very sad for him and his family! His "residence" in Florida (which he "represents") was not even his own. He couldn't tell the truth, I guess and be elected in the state that he "served" apparently. Funny, but I always thought that in order to represent a state you actually had to live there! Silly me. That only applies to Republicans. Remember the noise when Dick Cheney moved from Texas back to his native Wyoming in order to be a candidate for Vice president? Wow, you'd have thought he was representing Texas while living in Wyoming, wouldn't you? That wouldn't have been ethical and the Democrats would have had a bigger field day than they did!
But let's get real here, shall we? It never seems to matter what a Democrat does, his party supports him like a girdle and covers up for him at every turn. William Jefferson is more living proof. While under bribery charges, he continues to hold his seat and position. I'm sure that Mr. Wexler won't have any lingering problems, of course. After all, as soon as he was caught he started looking for a real live place of his own in Florida.
Democrats don't usually "throw people under the bus" no matter what they do as long as their politics are "politically correct" and liberal enough. Except for Barack Obama, that is. He even threw his white grandmother under the proverbial bus to make points. And he certainly tossed the wounded troops under a tank by refusing to visit them. Maybe it's just another part of his inexperience... he hasn't learned all the "ropes" of the party yet.

But of course, the 4th estate, like justice itself, eventually gets around to meting out "justice," however delayed and happily for Wexler anyway, denied, until now.
I just love how he picked such a multi-whatever neighborhood to list as his address, a 55 and up place that most likely is very NON kid-friendly. FL has a lot of NON this, NON that, "friendly neighborhoods" that make the Balkans look like the epitome of ethnic and national unity. They legalized ethnic and age tribalism in ways other states could only marvel -- then upchuck.
But Bobby's a good Dem ain't he. 'Cept, he coulda rented a trailer and been a real trail-blazer. A Mid-Atlantic Jewish guy from MD representing a very liberal and ethnically Jewish district while living in a PWT trailer camp with all those bible thumpers, beer guzzlin' and non NPR, PBS type folks. Lawdy, would the wheels of political justice really see some action!
He'd have to live with the fact that all those stereotypes are just that: stereotypes and something more -- people who might not like his carpetbaggin' and they vote. OUCH -- Yeah, Bobby, yer learning now!
