It's Easter Again
March 22nd 2008 21:19
Tomorrow is Easter, one of the holiest days on the Christian's calendar. It recalls the day that Jesus arose from the dead. Most Christians tend to take their faith for granted except for Christmas and Easter. But churches are usually filled to overflowing on those two holidays. I know my little church will be packed with worshippers!
From Charles Dickens came the quote, about Ebeneezer Scrooge: "He kept Christmas in his heart." Scrooge learned a valuable lesson that Christmas. I wonder what it would take for us to learn to keep Easter in our hearts all year long? If a greedy grouch like Scrooge could learn to keep love and kindness in his heart, maybe each of us can learn to keep praise and gratitude in ours! After all, the gift of eternal life is with us every day of every year not just one day in the spring.
If you call yourself a Christian, folks, don't just admit it when asked or celebrate it a couple of times a year. Live it every day and be glad that you can. We live in freedom (so far) and have the right to practice whatever we believe. Make the most of it!
Happy Easter!

Crucifixion bad for you
Canwest News Service
Published: Thursday, March 20, 2008
MANILA - Health officials in the Philippines warned the Roman Catholic faithful Wednesday that re-enacting the crucifixion could be bad for their health.
On Good Friday, dozens of people, mostly men, will be nailed to wooden crosses, while hundreds more will strip to the waist and whip themselves until their backs are cut and bloody as a way of atoning for their sins over the past year.
The department of health advised people taking part in the rituals to have a tetanus injection and to check the condition of the whip they will use before lashing their backs. It said dirty whips "welcome all sorts of infections and bacteria like tetanus."
I live in a coastal rain forest you tease. You're such a punster. C'mon out of the rain, hahahaha. Oh, that is rich.

As for the the comments made here, just remember SL- Jesus went through this same thing on the way to be crucified. Taunting, teasing and those drooling at the chance to see Him humiliated. Some things never change. It was hate, anger, and bitterness mixed with irresponsibility, self righteousness and the need to see good people wither away and die to make room for guilt free wickedness that lead our Saviour to the cross.
Matt 5:44 "Love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you.."
John 15:20: "If they persecuted me they will persecute you.."
John 15:21 " They will treat you this way because of My name, for they do not know the One who sent me"

"Raven" you really need help. Maybe Rev. Lester Caudill will still be willing to work with you. Those who concentrate on damaging others usually fail, and your suicidal fantasies aren't good at all. Please get some therapy and stop hating yourself.

SL, like it or not, you invited others to be demonstrative about their personal belief's. In response, I used hyperbole to suggest to you that it can be carried to extremes, and sadly, you and your fellows promote that mindset without considering the consequences or even to consider for a moment that you might inadvertently cause harm. You missed it because you're so busy playing the persecuted Christian victim card.
Everything I said was proffered in a playful manner. Creature of habit that you are, you immediately reacted to what you think is an attack; one of us needs to step down from the pedestal that is reserved for the Christ.
It's truly a shame that you aren't aware of the depth of your dogmatism and lack of cognition.
Enjoy the Easter Eggs, family and grandkids tomorrow; take your own advice and attend church.

Would be nice if bradish started practicing her religion eh?
You poor, pitiful creature, Raven. It must really stink to be you. How sad that you have no life other than trying to abuse others. I don't need a degree to know that you are mentally ill. You show it all the time. Your post on suicide is a tragedy waiting to happen. I hope no innocent, young, depressed person reads it. Please seek help before it's too late.
If you don't think george bush, rush limbaugh and a host of others are mentally ill then you're as batshit crazy as they are.

. . .if course it isn't SL, everyone can witness the consistency of your personality traits simply by reading your posts.
And by the way, this is a courtesy comment, I noticed your ratings are down.
