Good Friday, 2010
April 2nd 2010 14:03
Today is Good Friday, the anniversary of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Having watched "The Passion of the Christ", the meaning of His sacrifice comes home even more deeply than just reading the words in the Bible. It's hard to imagine what the Son of God went through for us and our salvation.
It amazes me that some people don't understand (or care) about the gift He gave us. More amazing still are those who pretend to believe and flaunt it, while doing everything in their power to deny the Lord. Forgiveness can be theirs, if they'll just accept His Grace and follow His footsteps.
Two glaring examples (among plenty of others) are the sadistic and evil monsters from the Westborough Baptist church. If they were actually Christians, they would abandon their evil ways and stop causing pain to others. Their blatant anti-Christian behavior would be forgiven if they simply asked.
The other obvious example is, of course, our president. He was raised both communist and Muslim and can't seem to decide which of the two he prefers. His behavior is completely anti-Christian (especially being such a staunch supporter of baby killing), and his capacity for telling foolish lies is breath taking. Even he could be forgiven if he accepted the Lord and began to behave accordingly.
Look folks, if sinners like these can be forgiven and saved, we all can. On this Good Friday, it is my prayer that we all give some thought to how God sacrificed His Only Son for us and what we can do to thank Him.

The West Borough bunch people give Baptists a bad name!!! They should NOT call themselves Christians. What they are doing goes against everything Christianity stands for. But, God is watching and will judge them one day- so that is comforting.
Thanks for reminding people of the sacred and holy event! Thank God for Jesus Christ!

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Wow.... I am amazed! For once you admitted that a certain Christian group can actually be evil, despite the fact that they claim to be "followers of Jesus".
This indicates to me that you do acknowledge the fact that SOMETIMES people who claim to be religious can be total hypocrites and monsters.
I applaud your insight in this case, which I don't think I've ever done before.
Now, the only difference between you and me is the fact that I see much MORE hypocrisy in Christianity #and religion in general# than you do, and I have a much more skeptical and cynical view of these things. So it's just a matter of degree.
But, having said that, I definitely believe in God -- so you can't put me in your atheist category. I'm just not a fan of God's "earthly institutions", that's all.
I believe that human beings #as a group, not as individuals# are too selfish and stupid to uphold any religion in a way that ruly reflects fairness, love and tolerance towards others. Sooner or later, religious dogma will be twisted to suit the aims of hateful, manipulative, narrow-minded human beings.
I was raised as Catholic, but I'm not a fan of the Catholic Church. Or any church for that matter.
I like to maintain a private relationship with God in my own own head. And I like to take satisfaction from the thought that this type of spontaneous, uninstitutionalised belief is 100% authentic.
Just felt like expressing this thought.

That being said, God is watching everything we do and will act accordingly in His Judgment. In the meantime, a watchful person can avoid being a hypocrite and point it out when others do it on a large scale. Did you know that Fred Phelps, leader of the Westbrook monsters, is a Democrat? A failed candidate for KS governor? And an Obama supporter? So, calling them "right wing" or "religious" or "Christian" would be inaccurate, at best.

How can you worship somebody who needs to have a son, which by the way is a human attribute? And that too have a son with a human? And who do you worship? The perverted father or the unfortunate son?

It's also interesting to see your ignorance. Obama is an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. But because his father was a muslim he wouldn't be forgiven? Though he accepted Christ? Or is it because he had spoken very highly of peace instead of slaughtering all disbelievers?
Bashing seems to make your day indeed because you rather live in ignorance than accept the irrationality of your religion.

As for my mention of B.O. (B.S.)'s muslim roots, that has little to do with his father and everything to do with his own behavior.
I suppose next you'll be calling me a racist to show off even more of your ignorance. My life is very full and happy, being able to speak the truth is part of it.

I wonder what makes you believe that you're a better Christian than Westborough Baptists.

Hey, by the way, what does your religion say about pride and excessive self-satisfaction and hatred?
It's okay. Every time you get mad just shut your eyes and imagine Jesus being crucified for YOUR SINS and God weeping. Just never make the mistake of opening up your mind.
Of course, it'd be a sin if you accepted that Christianity makes you sad, right? It probably doesn't because you have hathos to take refuge in.

S.L, you cared for a long time until Lester came along. You even decided to pray for me when you figured that I am smarter than you.
I have really met idiots who think they know everything about everything. Like truth about Obama, who by the way, as a masonist is as bad as Bush. But, of course, you have no clue! You say Obama is bad based on his religious principles. Very smart. Which age are you from? Stone age? With your holier-than-thou attitude, trust me, even Holy Dad will doom you to hell, that is if he exists.
And hello Lester. Planning to join us in hell, aye?

Lets see how far you can stretch this in the name of Holy Daddy, Dead-waiting-to-be-reborn holy son, and wandering holy ghost, who is more popularly known as holy spirit these days. It's always entertaining to read lunacy, idiocy, and blind, unquestioned faith.

And just FYI, Anonymous the coward, I use my real name (Orble removed my last name, I didn't) and you did come to my blog to behave badly. Why don't you go to your own and spend the rest of the day bragging about your brilliance? Or maybe you even bore yourself...
Lester has intelligent things to say and rates an answer. Why does that bother you? If you ever say anything worth reading, someone might want to read it, too. Try it sometime.
Until then, please go and bore someone else.

Try finding my uber-cool blog in the neighbourhood. Perfect exhibition of brilliance, unlike yours.

I'm not trying to suppress your rights to make a fool of yourself. You may do that, unfettered by me, to your empty little heart's content.
There just doesn't seem to be much point in wasting time with your infantile insults against my religion. So, please, try to find someone who is amused by your childish tirades and hate speech and entertain them like a good little court jester. Unlike you, I have other things to do with my time.

As I said, my blog is uber-cool because it's insult-free; insults not even humans like you. And as I said, I pick on only the demons who you consider humans with feelings. I respect well-behaved, social people
Well, you still seem to be wasting your time; I never called for it.
Oh look - holy spirit has come to punish me. Nah! That's just Satan

If your blog is as brilliant and witty as you have shown yourself to be, I can see why you remain anonymous. Nobody would want to read such "genius" anyway. Bragging is an empty shell game, so go play by yourself.
