Charen and May on Gaza

January 16th 2009 16:01
Mona Charen and Cliff May both have columns today concerning Israel and Gaza. Planck's Constant has a good one, too. In spite of the media and the UN, the truth is leaking out.

Well, S.L, there you go again...

America has the most pro-Israeli media in the world. The Congress has passed a resolution unanimously supporting Israel. So, what is the nonsense about the media? which media are you specifically referring to?

You may not like this, but you have bought into the Israeli crap coming out of the spokesmen when they say that the militants were in the compound, then in the vicinity of the compound...this is the same Israel that posted a video on youtube that turned out to be from 2007.

Before you go on about how you have a firm grasp and call those you disagree with you idiots, fools and everything else on the book, UInderstand this: the Hamas are a bunch of thugs and cutthroats. But, what Israel has done (and you all advocate) is basically handed a political victory to them. So, Israel screwed up big time..and this notion of blaming the Media, the UN is just nonsense......

As for the crap that Mona Charen wrote, she is an idiot!! the fact is that every single humantiarian organization has called Gaza one of the worst places to live in the world. Charen convientely forgets and buys into the Israeli argument in this regard. As for this crap that Egypt adminstered Gaza, does two wrongs make a right? If Israel claims itself to be morally superior to the rest of us, then should they not do the right thing? As for this fiction that Charen talks about in terms of Israel withdrawing, it is pure fantasy. Israel has controlled the land, the air and the sea.
If Israel had in fact played straight with yasser arafat, had truly lived up to the Oslo Accords, did not continue building settlements, peace could have been possible. I won't even bother to address Cliff May's nonsense..only to say that citing Radio Free Europe is not exactly the most credible of sources to justify your position in. At least if he would have cited larry elder, I would have given him more credeance.

Please think next time before buying into this line of reasoning....

And there you go again, Wylie... My opinions come from experts who know what they're talking about. I have a suspicion that Benjamin Netanyahu knows more about the situation than we do, so I'll take his word. Mona Charen and Cliff May might not agree with you, but they are more "in the know" than many who spend their time supporting Hamas and bashing Israel. Maybe you should read Planck's Constant, he uses quotes from all sorts of people (and newspapers) and has a good grip on the Gaza situation, too.

The bottom line is that Hamas is a terrorist organization and Israel is fighting for it's life. Hamas uses human shields and Israel tries to protect civilians.

S.L.,

Mora Charen and Cliff May have no clue what they're talking about...and the analysis I did reflects this. So, don't cite them...You do yourself disservice.

I will remind you that Begin and Shamir were both terrorits who went on to be Prime Minister. So, stop this hypcrocacy. Don't buy into Israeli propgranda.

As Israel is fighting for its' life and should be supported, that does not mean that palestinians have to be driven to the sea. aren't they human too? don't they have rights? Shimon Peres reminded the Israeli Parliament back in 1993 when he told the Knesset that Palestinians were not four legged animals when the same Bibi Netanyhau rose to argue against the Oslo Accords. Israel has made strategic blunders that has cost it dearly. Yet, the apolgoists for Israel seem to just brush it off.

Now, since you cite this guy who you think has the answer, let me just address one point this person made in one of his comments:

Source: http://plancksconstant.org/blog1/2009/01/post_22.htmlYour text goes here

In this, he states that "....Israel left Gaza more than 3 years ago. There is no occupation, brutal or otherwise. Germany was under occupation for decades and never once sent a suicide bomber to allied command. What do you think we would have done if US forces had left Germany after a few years of occupation and the Germans started attacking America with missiles? Would we ignore it for a few years? Or would we have cut off food, medicine, utilities, in the hope that the Germans would stop bombing us?

I won't even dignify his libelous comments about the norwegian doctor. Frankly, This is just bullshit. International law says that when you control the land, the sea and the Air, you are technically occupying a country. Do you understand that? Are you denying it and buying into the Israeli fiction?
As for this notion of "plenty of food" crap is not correct. For the past 1 1/2 years, there is a blockade...and Gaza was repeatedly attacked and bombed as Hamas responded until the seize fire was agreed. Underrstand this: Hamas made a strategic blunder when it did not agree to renew the truth to give Israel the excuse to launch the war. And yes, Israel had excellent intelligence..because the plan was in the works.

It appears that Israel is ending the "end game". Not a moment too soon...but understand that this is reality...if you all wish to continue to live in fantasyland, be my guest....enjoy it.

You seem to be in the fantasy realm, Wylie, if you believe what you're saying. Where do you get your news from, Al Jazeera?

How fascinating that you get news from so many sources, Wylie! Can you speak all those languages? I get my news from FNC. In my area we don't have a string of foreign (aka America bashing) media. We do have the American bashing American media, though. I avoid them because they're always wrong.
