I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Wholly Owned Subsidiaries

January 6th 2009 12:48
Many years ago, while traveling around the country and revisiting some cities and towns after several years, I started noticing that the proprietors of once familiar businesses had changed. Instead of an elderly couple who had operated a cafe and motel seven years earlier, the new owners wore turbans and didn't speak English very well. It was the same with several other establishments. The quality of goods or services hadn't diminished in all of them, but more than half, and the prices had increased.

Driving down a once-familiar highway in Oregon, we saw "For Sale" signs all over the place. We stopped at a small cafe with "Sold" stamped accross the "For Sale" sign in the front of the building. The waitress who served us appeared to be forcing herself to smile. I asked her what was wrong and she replied that it was her last week on the job. The new owners were having her train their daughter to take over her job. As we ate our lunch, we watched the waitress trying to explain the coffee machine to a young woman who didn't speak much English. When we left the table, the "trainee" snatched the tip.

I am awaiting the arrival of a dear friend (for more than 40 years) who is driving from another state. She called and told me where she was, along the route. The motel she usually stays in has been sold to some English-challenged people.

In a previous post, I quoted an email concerning the closing of Catholic hospitals if B.O. (B.S.) signs his unlimited abortion bill into law. If you have been to an emergency room lately, you might have noticed that many of the patients aren't able to speak English and require a translator. Imagine what it will be like when 30% of the hospitals shut down! In some areas, English speaking patients will be the ones who need translators.

I went to the nearest convenience store yesterday and was treated to a rapid-fire conversation between the clerk and another man in a language I couldn't identify. They were discussing something very intently. The clerk was also on the telephone speaking the same language, it seemed to be something of a three-way conversation. He was as abrupt and rude as usual, even though he does speak English fairly well.

My point is this, folks, the USA is rapidly becoming a "Wholly Owned Subsidiary" of the rest of the world. Our language and culture are being forced to take the back seat to the newcomers. This is no longer the "Melting Pot" it once was, made strong by the blending of different cultures and traditions. It is rapidly becoming a "separator" that divides us by race, ethnicity and heritage. But there's more to it still. Check out what Chuck Norris has to say...
