Independence Day Sunrise
July 4th 2009 12:07
When I was kid, the Fourth of July started hot and dry and remained that way until long after the fireworks had ended. That is not the case this year. The sun is rising right now and showing a misty world around me. The sky is white and gray and the breeze is nice and cool.
My grand niece finally showed up last night. She should be here soon to help me get ready for the TEA Party. Lest you think I'm lazy, the fact is that I'm not able to do much of anything. When I say all I can do anymore is hold my fingers over the keyboard and twitch, I'm not kidding. My mouth and my brain still work quite well (although some folks might disagree on the brain part... LOL)
Anyway, enough griping... I don't know how many will be showing up today, but I have some information printed out and can certainly print out more if necessary. I'm not crazy about getting the flag wet, but the one I have is nylon and a little rain won't hurt it, so as soon as the sun is all the way up, out it goes!
My niece (not to be confused with my grand niece) is using my refrigerator to store some of the goodies for the family party later tonight. It's almost too much of a temptation to poke around and see what's there. But I won't...
This is Independence Day, folks. Enjoy it, use it wisely and never forget what this day means and why we celebrate it with fireworks. "The rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there..."

It seems that global warming is taking its toll in my part of the world. With a really brutal winter we went through, and the soggy cooler summer so far, I hope we can fight global warming! Or at least build an ark!
Happy 4th!
