O.K. I've Officially Had It

There was a time when Orble was a great place to blog. That time has passed, folks. With people offending everyone in sight (site?) leaving and then returning under another guise to continue their nefarious ways in one form or another, insulting and harassing other bloggers and being just plain jerks, it's gotten to be too much.

I hadn't intended to waste my time with a farewell post, but what the hey? The nasty little cluster that remains is welcome to their own pleasure of being obnoxious and rude. The few good people left around here won't stay long, I'm sure, then the rest of you can start chewing on each other out of boredom. Nice job of herding the cats, Jon.

Can't say I blame you S.L. I wish you luck, I am enjoying your new book, it's very interesting maybe after it's finished maybe you should write about you experiences here at fairy land.

I will not say farewell, because we will keep in touch via email Orble is the loser S.L., but they have chosen their path even though it leads to Hell.

Maybe you don't realize that for some of us, Orble is a great place to be. But since your mission is to state your opinion in the absolute most offensive way possible, now that that kind of behaviour is no longer tolerated, you have realized Orble is not the home for you.

Perhaps you should have realized this a long time ago and bought your own domain name, installed wordpress and blogged somewhere where your thoughts CAN'T be moderated by anybody but yourself.

Just a thought.

Maybe you'll all be happy now that there is no one left to offer an opposing idea. But you'll probably all get bored and try to find the rest of us so your love fest doesn't get too tedious. Aw, come on! You're falling right in to the bullies hands.

I can't believe everyone is giving in to the intolerable tolerance-pushers' hands. Of course Orble will suck, because there will only be one-sided issues. They now have the right to crush whoever they feel does not 'fit' their agenda.

Me? I don't give a rat's @$$ what people think of my thoughts. I've lived in Europe during the Cold War and seen first hand the anti-American attitude and witnessed their propaganda. I went to Tunisia in April 1972, and wondered why we didn't see the summer olympics terror plot coming. There was a certain hatred with all that was West since I was with European tourists. Now in the Muslim tradition's defense, we were warned that if we knock a woman's burka or veil, we will be beheaded

Everybody should take a vacation. REGROUP! And come back with a vengeance. Do what you do best.

I hate to see you go, SL. You're the yin to the liberal yang. I'll hang around orble until I get bored, I guess. More than anything, blogging is a way for me to form and clarify my own thoughts and opinions. It's more like thinking out loud (on paper, that is) than anything. I almost view it as therapy. Sometimes it's a drag, but I enjoy it more often than not.

Sounds like you've had an interesting life, signals!

The main reasons I'm quitting Orble is because of the "report" button, the fact that Jon doesn't keep an eye on what's going on, and so many of the writers I like are leaving. Soon there'll be nothing left but the "tolerance pushers" who all agree with each other. I've never cared about what others think of me and didn't quit when it's gotten ugly in the past. But it's been almost three years and I don't like the changes I'm seeing.

I'm going to find another site where things may be a little smoother. I like to argue!

I have been distressed to see that our "debate", a chance to present opposing views in a civil manner, has been deleted by Orble, that no one seemed to care about the jousting and that the whole thing was pointless.

You and I agree on many matters and, obviously, disagree on many more. I hope that I have earned your respect and regret that out attempt to engage in rational discussions was such a dismal failure.

Orble didn't delete it, as far as I know, Jim. It was on Damo's site and he had every right to remove it so that no one else profited from our efforts.

Orble has degenerated into a swamp of liberalism and is systematically removing all opposing views. They're welcome to it. I doubt that even you will be happy with nothing but agreeable voices. How boring...

Our debate was interesting and I hope caused people to think. Good luck in the future, Jim. Unfortunately you may not have anyone left on Orble to debate with...

Yeah I don't agree that Damo should have taken that debate down... He should have consulted you both first and made attempts to move the debate onto another site before deleting it.

I think Orble may have deleted Damo's last few posts, seeing as they were all to obviously anti-Orble, but everything else he took down was done of his own accord.

It was his property, Someone. It was a good debate, but there will be others. I had it set on Damo's site because I trusted him to be fair and I still do. We don't agree on everything, but I think he is a man of honor. I think the same of you and many other Orblers.

Orble has made it clear they only want the Liberal point of view. Fine its their site and they are the boss. I am as much or more annoyed by the slow page loading here. People have told me they won't wait several minutes for a page to load to read my posts.

I will soon be following Stillman to the other blogging site if at least the site speed does not speed up. I have written a lot of stuff here and mostly it has been fun.

I've dealt with plenty of obnoxious, and replied in kind. But the "report" button and Jon taking the wrong side of things, and other writers that I respect being driven off, were too much.

I'm having trouble getting used to the new site, but them's the breaks. There's a lot I miss about the way Orble used to be...

I know, PopCon. If Jon would get rid of his "3 strikes" rule, or apply it reasonably, I'd be a lot more interested in coming back. Also, I quit in support of some friends who had been treated badly and would not want them to feel betrayed. This is gonna take some thought...
