I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Brolins Humor

September 14th 2007 21:36
I used to like James Brolin. Way back when he was on "Marcus Welby, M.D." I thought he was a good looking guy and a pretty fair actor. When he was on "Wings of Gold" I liked his character and thought he was a decent man. His wedding to Barbra Streisand made me wonder a little... but I figured maybe it was like many marriages that have political partners, but not politics. James Carville and Mary Matalin, for example. I was still willing to think well of him. On 9-11-07, however, he cured me permanently of any good thoughts about him.

Brolin was being interviewed on a radio program somewhere back east that I've never heard. He was supposed to be discussing his newest movie, I guess. Instead, when reminded of the date, he said lightly, "Well, happy 9-11!" Excuse me? Intelligent people say "Happy" in relation to things like birthdays, holidays, and happy occasions. He behaved as stupidly as his wife. One of the hosts reminded him that 3000 people died that day and he seemed to find it comical. Either he's just plain stupid or... just like his wife... or...

Sorry, folks, but when someone behaves that badly, I don't want to watch them on TV or in a movie or listen to their music or anything. Maybe I'm too hardline, but from now on, every time I see him, all I'll be able to hear is "Happy 9-11." His colors are showing very clearly.

It seems all Hollywood can do is think of themselves. Thanks for the head's up. I will look at him in a different light now too. What a jerk!

I researched this abit, and it seems to me like the radio host cut him off before he got to say reasons for his attitude. Like many, he has come out publicy as doubting the offical explanations for the attacks. I think it is probably because of that reason that so many took offence. All in all, not worth getting our undies in a bunch over...

Hey, Jeff...? How many times have you heard anyone say "Happy Pearl Harbor Day?" I don't give a rats behind what else he might have said. I heard him say in a chuckling voice, "Happy Sept. 11th." That's all I need to hear from him. Either he was drunk or stoned or an idiot like his wife. In any case he lost the respect of many people, including me. If I ever see him again, that's the only thing that will come to my mind. If it doesn't bother you, maybe 9-11 didn't impress you very much... As for the "conspiracy theorists"... good grief, what a pathetic bunch.
