I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. More Bailouts? Get Real!

November 18th 2008 13:18
So we got ripped off for billions under the guise of "bailing out" the financial instutitions that caused the current financial "crisis." The money could have gone to all the homeowners who were about to lose their homes (for a much smaller price) but it isn't going to be spent on anything so wasteful as protecting the American public. Of course not! It'll all go to entities who think they need it and will spend it "wisely", right? Uh huh... sure...

Remember when the airlines (thanks to their aggressive mismanagement) went under? Did their planes stop flying? Of course not! But now we need to pour 25 billion dollars of taxpayer money doen the drain to "save" the auto industry. Uh huh... right... sure...

Back in the days of Joe Green and Sam Gompers, unions were a good thing. That is no longer the case. Under B.O.'s regime, we can expect employees to be watched as they vote for or against unions. Will they have much of a real choice? Nope. Not if they want to keep their jobs. The liberal, left leaning unions are planning to take over the country and B.O. is going to help them.

They'll grab the money and cover their current costs, without giving a thought to the future or restructuring their businesses to make them work more efficiently. The Big Three auto makers have priced themselves right out of their own market. If they combine and consolidate and get rid of the union, they can survive. If not, let 'em fall down the drain and find ways to rebuild.

Government is NOT in the business of "bailing out" failed companies! Well, it shouldn't be... But we can expect B.O. to "help" any large company and get his finger into their pie in the process. Government will soon be in charge of banks, finance, manufacturing and everything else they can cheat their way into. B.O. plans to make us the Socialist Republic of America. Socialism/Communism NEVER works, folks! It kills countries. And those of you who voted for B.O. have signed our death warrant. I got your "hope" and "change" right here in the outhouse (where it belongs).

Watch the Larouche Webcast (link) today, or wait a few days to see it on the archives, or the transcript. All is not lost, the Geezer is at work.

Hey S.L. the labor unions was at one time a good thing, but now they look more like the mafia, and they hold many companies hostage as you can see with the auto industry.

Now the question is, have the unions out lived their usefulness, and are now a part of the problem instead of the solution to the problem.

With our current labor laws, unions are no longer need, I say this as a former union member, and know that in many cases unions cause problems, or obstruct in the solutions of problems.

With a global economy unions have to go we can't compete with the world with one hand tied behind our backs.

One hand tied behind our backs, Lester and a noose at our necks. The unions have served their purpose and should go. But with B.O. in the White House, the stench will continue...

I couldn't agree more. The UAW is sinking the auto companies. I think the Big 3 need to go into pre-packaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy plans. Then, they can rework those union contracts to make them more competitive. Or maybe they should just shutter the plants in the Northeast and move them to the South. That's where the foreign automakers go. Wages are lower there and unions are not as popular. That alone could cut labor costs significantly.

Removing all risk from business has not served us well, PopCon. More bailouts will bring more problems. If the Big 3 made better products for a better price, they wouldn't need to be "rescued." I agree with you, they should ditch the Union and move to the south. They should also spend some of their big bonuses to pay for re-training of the employees they'll leave behind. (Or pay for them to move). it galls me when CEO's get huge bonuses for doing their job so badly.
