A Black Beauty
May 3rd 2009 01:15
This horse came from the Nebraska horse rescue operation. You should have seen him two years ago! He was skeletal! And look how beautiful he is now! Someone named him "Blackie" which wasn't very original or dramatic. But he's mine now! I'll be getting another horse in a few days, also from the horse rescue operation. Can you imagine something so magnificent being beaten to death and ground up for dog food? He was minutes away from that miserable fate when he was rescued. If you're in the market for a horse, folks, think about going to a horse rescue operation. If you can't have one of your own, you can still help support and sponsor the horses that are being abused and killed. Since PETA isn't interested, it's up to the real people to keep these marvelous creatures from being slaughtered. Come on folks, step up to the plate and do something besides "think about it and say awww". Whether it's an abused horse, a blind sheep, a terrorized dog, a deformed chicken or an unborn child... life deserves a chance to continue. Don't forget, your parents were pro-life before you were born.

Round Politics
I know for a fact that it's not cheap to keep and care for horses, I have three to care for, but it is well worth the investment, and time it takes.
I always felt that my sons and I were very close, as I have always spent time with them, but since we have gotten our horses, I feel we have gotten even closer, and spend even more quality time together. That is important to me as my oldest will be going off to College this fall.

The Political Brief
If you can give a kid a good, solid foundation, they should be able to deal with the bigger world. Your son will do well in college, I'm sure. My grand daughter is doing great in the Marines, mostly because she had a good upbringing.
