Be Careful Who You Attack!

April 14th 2008 14:51
A friend of mine sent me this and I'm posting it because it really brings two points home very clearly. One is that guns are not dangerous in the right hands (they can save lives) and criminals deserve what they get when they attack strangers.

There was a case in Nevada a couple years ago of a young boy shooting the man who was trying to strangle his mother. If he hadn't known how to use the gun, the boy's whole family might have been murdered. The killer probably wouldn't have left witnesses.
............................. ............................. ............................. ............................. ..........................

BUTTE, MONTANA, NOVEMBER 5, 2006.

TWO ILLEGAL ALIENS, RALPHEL RESINDEZ, 23, AND ENRICO GARZA,

26, PROB ABLY BELIEVED THEY WOULD EASILY OVERPOWER HOME-ALONE

11-YEAR-OLD PATRICIA HARRINGTON AFTER HER FATHER HAD LEFT THEIR TWO-STORY HOME. IT SEEMS THE TWO CROOKS NEVER LEARNED TWO THINGS: THEY WERE IN MONTANA AND PATRICIA HAD BEEN A CLAY SHOOTING CHAMPION SINCE SHE WAS NINE.

PATRICIA WAS IN HER UPSTAIRS ROOM WHEN THE TWO MEN BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR OF THE HOUSE. SHE QUICKLY RAN TO HER FATHER'S ROOM AND GRABBED HIS 12 GAUGE MOSSBERG 500 SHOTGUN.

RESINDEZ WAS THE FIRST TO GET UP TO THE SECOND FLOOR ONLY TO BE THE FIRST TO CATCH A NEAR POINT BLANK BLAST OF BUCKSHOT FROM THE 11-YEAR-OLD'S KNEE CROUCH AIM. HE SUFFERED FATAL WOUNDS TO HIS ABDOMEN AND GENITALS.

WHEN GARZA RAN TO THE FOOT OF THE STAIRS, HE TOOK A BLAST TO THE LEFT SHOULDER AND STAGGERED OUT INTO THE STREET WHERE HE BLED TO DEATH BEFORE MEDICAL HELP COULD ARRIVE.

IT WAS FOUND OUT LATER THAT RESINDEZ WAS ARMED WITH A STOLEN

45 CALIBER HANDGUN HE TOOK FROM ANOTHER HOME INVASION ROBBERY. THAT VICTIM, 50-YEAR-OLD DAVID BURIEN, WAS NOT SO LUCKY. HE DIED FROM STAB WOUNDS TO THE CHEST.

PATRICIA STAVED OFF A ROBBERY AND POTENTIAL RAPE BECAUSE HER PARENTS TAUGHT HER HOW TO USE A GUN. HER PARENTS JUST DIDN'T HIDE A GUN IN THE HOUSE AND NOT EDUCATE HER ON THE POWER THAT A FIREARM PROVIDES. IGNORANCE CAN BE DEADLY, BUT FORTUNATELY FOR THIS MONTANA FAMILY, KNOWLEDGE WAS POWER.

TWO ILLEGALS THAT WILL BE SENT BACK....IN A BOX!

BLAMING GUNS FOR VIOLENCE IS LIKE BLAMING SPOONS FOR ROSIE O'DONNELL'S FAT ASS.

CALLING AN ILLEGAL ALIEN AN UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANT IS LIKE CALLING A DRUG DEALER AN UNLICENSED PHARMACIST. EVER WONDER WHY GOOD STUFF LIKE THIS NEVER MAKES NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, OR ABC NEWS....

That was an interesting case SL, and on a personal note: I'm glad the young man shot those two. Period.

I'm surprised in our screwed up society that the illegals didn't sue them. No one can say they didn't get what they deserved.

Hi Raven and signals! Yes, they did get justice! 'Bout time, too.

Singals, have you hears about Ramos and Campion? They were border guards who were convicted of shooting an illegal alien drug dealer in the butt. He was allowed to come back to witness against them. He is still dealing drugs across the border. They got prison time.

How's that for justice?

interesting case, I think guns are a can of worms (sorry to state the obvious), what I do know is that like this article highlights, anyone that is near one, should know how to use them properly, like this girl.
i honestly think if I touched a gun I'd hurt myself because i have never learned ..

Louie, you're right. Nobody should have access to guns without knowing how to use them properly. The little girl knew what she was doing and it saved her life (remember that the intruders had killed their previous victim). The boy I mentioned would have been killed, along with his mother and sister if he hadn't acted. When Kip Kinkle was shooting up the Oregon school and killing fellow students, he was stopped by two brothers who knew what to do. Gun violence isn't likely to go away. The best defense is to learn about guns and act responsibly around all weapons. The more you know, the safer you can be.

What an ending!!! Great for that child because what was about to happen to her is just horid. She saved others from the same fate the first poor guy got and maybe even worse.
Good story! Tammy

Thanks for stopping by, Tammy! The mainstream media only reports on gun incidents that harm innocents. It's time people knew that guns can save, too!

Hmmm, interesting.
I reckon what you've demonstrated here is how to write for The Daily Telegraph!
Notice how the story is peppered with the idea of rape and murder, when as far as we know the two blokes were looking for a peanut butter sandwich.
What the story doesn't deal with is the conditions that these people lived with and fled in their home country. What prejudices has they grown up with? Maybe if they were viewed as "people" instead of "aliens" and treated with a bit of decency and respect, they may in turn show it to others. The story assumes much and tells little.
What were they after when they broke into a house? Did they even know someone was home?
They only thing we know for sure is that we can never ask them.
Guns for a safe, secure society? I don't think so.

Hello, ChrisC. I'm pretty sure those blokes weren't after a peanut butter sandwich. One of them was carrying the gun they had just stolen from their previous victim who did not survive the encounter.

I didn't write the article, by the way, I merely posted it to make my point.

I'm sure that if an armed intruder broke into your home you'd have him sit down and chat with you about his childhood and how little respect criminals get these days. If there's time before he robs and kills you, that is.

Well, darn SL, the home invasion story is part of an urban legend, But my feeling on the subject aren't.

Here's the link: Home Invasion.

I for one like the occasional taste of my foot, I must, I always find ways to chew on it.

Ooopppsss. How about a little ketchup and mustard? LOL

On the other hand, the boy I mentioned was real. I wish I could recall more of the details, but I think it happened in Elko. I saw the story on the Reno news. There are plenty of true tales of bad guys being thwarted by gun wielding people who don't want to become victims. It doesn't make any difference, ultimately, whether the criminal is legal or illegal, status wise. The victim can be just as dead.

My guns are much safer in my hands than those of a criminal, and I plan to keep them there.
