I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

Supreme Court Shocker... NOT

May 26th 2009 12:59
The new Supreme Court nominee is a Puerto Rican who is as far to the left as she can get. Is anyone surprised? Judge Sotomayor has made impressive gaffs on tape (she and Obiden should get along really well. Maybe even have gaff contests?)

There were probably a few dingbats who thought B.O. (B.S.) would "rule from the center." How stupid can they get? The most left wing president in history ruling from the far left? Boy there's a surprise, huh? Nominating an activist judge to the Supreme Court is not at all unexpected, by those of us who are able to think rationally.

I have a theory about why B.O. (B.S.) is showing his real agenda so clearly and so soon. Could it be that he knows the American people will only put up with a certain amount of garbage rammed down our throats for a brief amount of time? So he's trying to do as much permanent damage as possible before the 2010 elections. He may not have a chance afterwards. I hope.

Yeah S.L. those two sure do dine a lot on pig feet, maybe I shouldn't have said that but it was the first thing that came to my mind. We can tell with B.O. in office which way this country is headed, and it's down the toilet.

And look how many people he's hiring to push the handle, Lester. His judgment is no longer in question. He has none!

I posted the following comment on Randy’s site, but I would appreciate your answer, if you would humor me. I also wonder if I am your unidentified Blogger mentioned in your post earlier today Really Long Link In any event, I do comment on your site and read it religiously. We do not agree on most issues but that has nothing to do whatsoever with a civil, respectful, honest debate. In fact, such a debate should serve to keep our respective opinions sharp and refined.

I am going to address specifically my opinion on Judge Sotomayor in the next few hours; those opinions will, of course, have no greater validity that yours, or even those of SL.

But I would like to pose a larger question to you and I would expect that it cannot be honestly answered without a measure of introspection.

Are there any conceivable circumstances under which a decision by President Obama could be met, accepted and considered good for our country?

(Please don’t just say, “Certainly, if he were to change his general views 180°.)

To anticipate your same question to me: Yes. I already have expressed disagreement and disappointment with some of his decisions.

If he resigned, Jim, I would most heartily approve. But only if he took Obiden (Ted Kennedy's term, not mine), and Nasty Pelosi (my term, thank you) with him.

Just mildly curious, Jim, suppose President Bush had shoved bills through and signed them without anyone knowing what was in them... would you have liked that? If you say yes, then you're lying. If you say no, you're lying, too. So, which is it?

Actually, Ms B, President Bush did worse in some cases. He, or rather his Vice President, acted without any legislation at all to adopted what are called, euphemistically, as “enhanced interrogation techniques”, “extraordinary rendition” and a few others. Be that as it may, President Bush took necessary action in a number of areas with which I was and am in total agreement. What specifically?

Start with the Department of Education. Republicans had always wanted nothing more than its closing; an over reach, it was claimed, by the Federal Government, George Bush, to his credit, pushed against his Party’s traditions and pushed for The 2001 Elementary and Secondary Education Act, better known as No Child Left Behind. It tells the states to shape up or face a loss of federal funds. It is precisely the sort of law that conservatives predicted a liberal administration in Washington would someday seek -- and it did.

Next, and this may surprise you, George Bush’s wish to go to war with Iraq (not shared by the Vice President and many policy wonks) was motivated, I believe, by good and virtue. I believe that Mr. Bush truly wanted to get rid of a very evil dictator. The war may not have been managed well, the “Mission Accomplished” fiasco a poor joke, but he meant well.

I know that, in your eyes and in those of others, I am sure, I am but a gnat. But cannot we have opposing positions without my lying?

And even gnats have feelings.

I don't know, Jim. Can you stop lying?

Golly, that was a helpful -- if not responsive -- comment.

Your insight is remarkable.

Do you treat everyone with whom you disagree with the same courtesies?

For your information, I do not lie on my blogs. I may be wrong. I may misinterpret. If any when I do realize or am convinced by others that I have erred, I correct, apologize and move on.

I am, however, naive. I keep hoping that you and can rationally debate issues, not my lack of significance in the insect world.

Anytime you'd like to try it, send me a message. I am perfectlly willing to have discussions on your site -- just so you cannot suggest I am trying to increase activity at mine

I would think that it'd be a win-win situation for you, swatting ther gnat and, perhaps, adding my 2 or 3 of my readers to your stats.

What do you want from me, Jim? Do I have any position on any subject that you doubt? Have I ever been vague or nebulous concerning my beliefs? We have tried debating in the past, Jim and it didn't work, remember? It always winds up the same way, either you tick me off and I chew back or you run, whining to someone else's blog.

If you have something to say that is worth my time, say it.
