I am highly opinionated with a firm grip on the difference between right and wrong. I pay more attention to the candidates and the issues than to precise party lines. My facts are just that... FACTS- and my opinions are MY opinions- Regardless of what the subject, you can always find a good read on my blog, I write about various issues and not everything is focused on the subject of politics. I hope you enjoy!

"Hoist on Their Own Petards"

January 31st 2012 13:12
There's an old expression, folks! Basically, it means "you got into this mess for personal reasons". Somehow it seems an appropriate way to describe lots of voters this year. Wonder how many of them will learn from their mistakes and use a little common sense and even wisdom this time?

In 2008, all the black vote (O.K., very nearly all of it) went to B.O. (B.S.). The unemployment numbers among the black population in general and the young black population in particular, are staggering.

The Catholic vote went down the same rat hole, and now they are going to be forced to choose between offending God Almighty or closing hospitals (and other Church owned businesses).

The Jewish vote was nice and liberal and look at how the panderer-in-chief has treated Israel.

You could say that their "petard" was to prove they weren't "racists" and to follow along with the hope and change mantra. How's that working so far? It didn't take a rocket scientist to pay attention to his voting record, his speeches and his books, folks. All the misery he has managed to inflict upon this country in the last three years is not a surprise at all (at least to those of us who vote with our heads and not our emotions).

Apparently there are still those who haven't gotten the memo, "Elections matter." In case any of those are reading this post, try looking around at the shape the country is in. Take a good, long look. Seen enough? Do you really like class warfare? How about being on Food Stamps? Do you prefer paychecks or Welfare checks? Is human life sacred or only a toy to be tossed away when it's inconvenient? Is Islam more important than Christianity or Judaism? Does Congress have anything to do besides keeping their chairs warm? Is gun running a good job for the government or shall we just leave it to criminals (and then prosecute them for it!). Are we a Union of States ( there really are 50, by the way, not 57), or can the federal government really sue a state for upholding federal law? Does it bother you that our government can live on our dime (dime?) very extravagantly while we who pay the bills can't afford a camp-out (and watch the Worst Family as they jet all over the world, spending millions on their vacations)? That's what happens when people waste their votes on advertising and glitz and a false sense of racial "obligation".

I was a serious supporter of Herman Cain, folks. He could have beaten B.O. (B.S.) and the all-important Race Card, at their own game. His ideas were good, proven and solid. Neither Gingrich nor Romney gives me a Chris Matthews style "thrill", but either one of them would be better than what we have now. Personally, I prefer Rick Santorum and will vote for him if he stays in the race through my primary. But the "establishment candidate" will probably be the nominee, and I'll vote for him through gritted teeth.

Elections matter, people! If we don't pay attention to the rhetoric and records of the candidates, we can wind up in this kind of a mess again. Through our own stupidity, we have allowed this country to slide toward the edge of the cliff. Will we turn around and fight our way back to the top? Or take that last nudge and push ourselves over, into oblivion?

Painting an Outhouse

January 2nd 2012 19:09
For those of you too young to have ever actually used an "outhouse", allow me to describe one. An outhouse was a bathroom before indoor plumbing. It had a flat seat (usually made of wood) with holes in it for people to "relieve" themselves. There are few things that smell worse than an outhouse in the summer! The "aroma" and the flies make an outhouse hard to mistake for anything else.

Some people (politicians most notably) seem to like painting the outhouse to make it look like something else. For example, Affirmative Action. This disgraceful program dares to presume that "people of color" are not capable of competing with others academically. It permits students who have not properly prepared for higher education to enroll in colleges. Not being prepared, they fail and the Affirmative Action folks welcome them to the prisons and welfare rolls with a smug, "See, we were right!" The outhouse is painted, but the stench of bigotry and the flies of racism remain.

Muslims commit crimes and the media paints the outhouse again. The Ft. Hood killer was a muslim who yelled "Allah Ackbar" just before he opened fire. He had a history of being anti-American (despite collecting a paycheck from the US military), and was known to be a devotee of jihad. But the outhouse was painted with "workplace violence" colors and the reeking continued.

The Santa Killer was also a muslim who murdered his relatives in an "honor killing" and it was ignored. More paint, more stink, more flies.

"The Environment" is another outhouse. Pretending that mankind caused "glo-bull warming/cooling/climate change/whatever" is the paint job on higher taxes, and greater restrictions to everything we do. The paint covers many sins, including the loss of freedom, high unemployment, and the wonderful 5% rating our brilliant congress now enjoys.

Washington DC has become the ultimate outhouse, folks. The stench of corruption is creating a big blue cloud over us all. And the flies it draws all wear 3-piece suits, have fat bank accounts from their ill-gotten gains, and boast of their "progressive" agenda. The aromatic OWS bunch are the larvae left behind as the country sinks under the outhouse bench.

Now we come to the 2012 elections. Will the result be a good fumigation? Or will we just add on another coat of paint and celebrate more flies instead of swatting them?
